ADS#001 - Angus Data Services - Introduction,
Calving Records, Inventory Reporting,
Website & Social Media, Future Topics

Introduction
The goal of this newsletter is to provide timely information and ways of working with Angus Data that allow you to get out and do what you do best – raise high quality angus cattle.

I recently started to write articles about Angus Data Services – Leveraging Login and have expanded into this newsletter.

Whether you are new to working with Angus Data or a seasoned veteran it’s my goal to put something useful for everyone in these newsletters.

Before you simply hit delete, I would challenge you by asking if this newsletter isn’t for you, who do you know that would benefit from it? Take a moment, scan the newsletter looking at the topics and then forward this on.

Now is the time to take care of your calving records.
I have always loved this time of year in Missouri. The grass has greened up, leaves are back on the trees, flowers are blooming and of course, baby calves are running around in the pasture.

Life on the farm is something new each day. You get up with all the intentions of fixing the water gap or moving the cows to a new pasture, but who gets up thinking they are going to knock out their calving records for that season?

Some producers will wait until the calves are weaned to submit calving records and weaning weights at the same time. There is a little window between calving season ending, planting wrapping up and hay season starting. This is when I tell folks to think about taking care of their spring calving records. Doing it now makes it easier to work through any issues before weaning time.

Breaking down Inventory Reporting
Do you have a fall calving operation? If so, enrollment into Inventory Reporting is now available and could be a benefit for you.

Are you already enrolled with your Fall Herd now is the time to make sure you get re-enrolled so you don't lose any benefits.

Reminder the enrollment deadline for Fall Herds is July 15th.

Website / Social Media Updates
Now is a good time to make sure your website is updated.
  • Update with next sale date / location
  • Add in new herd sires / donors
  • Update around the farm pictures
Been thinking about building a website? Now is the time to get pictures for it with the cattle and the green grass.

Social Media Ideas for posting
  • Moving Cattle to a new location
  • Planting / Harvesting Crops
  • Putting up Hay
  • New baby calves
The idea isn't to just connect with your customers leading up to your sale,. Try and stay engaged throughout the year to keep your brand in front of them.
